Information security

Infinity Photography ensures that any data that you send is safe when you send it by using state of the art 128-bit encryption and safe thereafter by adhering to strict policies on data control and security.

How encryption works

128-bit Server Certificate encryption is the strongest and safest encryption commercially available. So secure that if you are running an old version of your web browser you may not be able to view this page properly. If you have any difficulties please contact customer services. Before your details are sent over the Internet, our Security Certificate encrypts the information by what is know as a ‘public key’. Only our key (know as a ‘private key’) can safely decrypt this information. In the unlikely event that someone manages to intercept this information, all they will have is a jumble of encrypted data that will not mean anything to them. Only we have access to the private key and are able to unlock this information.

There are two types of encryption, 40-bit and 128-bit encryption. This refers to the length of the ‘key’ generated by every encrypted transaction. The longer the key, the more difficult it is to break the encryption code. We use the longest key available making it the most advanced encryption there is.

You can tell that you are in a secure area by the “https” in the address, rather than just “http”. Note the ‘s’ in https; this indicates it is secure. There are other ways you can tell you are in a secure area, but this varies depending on the type of browser you use. E.g. the padlock symbol in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
